Alvaro Picardo
Born in Barcelona, Alvaro moved to the UK 30 years ago. After a varied career, from films to corporate finance, four years ago during lockdown he painted an old forgotten lampshade, which released his creative flow.
Over these years in London, he dived headfirst into the city’s rich visual culture, visiting museums, galleries, and auction houses whenever he could. This undoubtedly strengthened his eclectic taste, which is influenced by traditional and modern architecture, brutalism, abstract and Modern British Art.
Alvaro is also inspired by his Catalan roots: from rationalist architecture to the colourful floor tiles you find in Barcelona’s flats, all influenced by the luminous colour of the Catalan coast. His work is being commissioned by leading UK and US interior designers and is featured in House & Garden, World of Interiors, British Vogue… and has developed collections of hand-painted lampshades for iconic Swedish store Svenskt Tenn, and British interior designers Susie Atkinson and Oakley Moore.

Barbary
First founded in 1991 and relaunched in 2024 by the grandson of the original founder; Barbary is a family-owned business producing beautiful hand-thrown Moroccan terracotta pots. Known for their unique designs, unmistakable pink colouring, and smooth finish.
Each terracotta pot by Barbary is a product of centuries-old techniques, hand-thrown and shaped by skilled craftsmen. By working with local potters, Barbary not only promotes the beauty and authenticity of Moroccan craftsmanship but also supports the livelihoods of the artisans who keep these traditions alive. Barbary’s pots are made from a unique blend of clay from three mineral-rich regions, naturally high in iron and silica which enhances the terracotta’s durability.
Each pot is crafted in multiple stages, with some of the largest designs taking up to 30 days to complete. Thanks to their specific clay blend, Barbary’s terracotta pots are particularly resistant to freezing conditions.

Deborah Brett Ceramic
Deborah Brett’s creative and personal touch has been bought to a range of dinnerware. Working closely with a fifth-generation family run factory in Stoke-on-Trent each piece in the collection is designed and made by Deborah and then cast, allowing the shapes to be replicated perfectly. After a twenty-year career as a fashion journalist for The Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Red magazine and Elle, Deborah Brett retrained as a ceramicist. Passionate about creativity in every aspect of her life, Deborah has had two group shows exhibiting her decorative sculptural pieces.
Experimenting with clay, and the balance between texture and colour in relation to form; Deborah works in both porcelain and oxides as well as stoneware layered with different glazes. Her bespoke bowls, platters and vase-like sculptural forms combine hand building, slab work as well as thrown pieces making them both practical and decorative. Her sculptural commissions, hand made in her West London studio, rely on combining all these skills and layering her love of bespoke glazes and the chemical reactions these create.

Louise Ferdinando
Louise’s jewellery business has grown out of a fantastically over zealous collecting bug she has had ever since she was a child! Many pieces have come and gone since then, often to film, theatre, television and collectors. The pieces come from many countries and eras with the emphasis on the highly unusual. Louise loves something she has never seen before or could never imagine existing.
From 1970s silver to 1920s flapper beads to Victorian monumental pieces with a large smattering of mid-century glass from everywhere and anywhere! Her aim is to broaden and enhance modern dressing as opposed to slavishly copying the past.

LAMP LDN
LAMP LDN stocks bright and brilliant homeware, lovingly curated and mindfully sourced. We work with independent makers and family businesses, who create pieces to stand the test of time with their impeccable style and quality.
We want to provide a space where you can shop for beautiful things in a way that’s mindful of our planet, and kind to the people on it.
